Answers to the questions we are asked most, how to find your licence, and how to reach a person.
Questions, problems and refund requests go to [email protected]. Say which version you have: it is in Settings, About.
Your licence key and invoices are in the customer portal, where you can also cancel the yearly plan. Paste the key in Settings, Plan.
Open the customer portalIn DailyUtil's Settings, on the Plan page, choose "Deactivate this Mac". Then enter your key on the new Mac. One licence covers 2 Macs at a time.
The app
A native Mac app with the small developer tools you reach for every day: JSON, JWT, Base64, URL encoding, Unix time, UUIDs and hashes, in one window with search and keyboard shortcuts. It works offline, and every tool has AI help through Apple Intelligence or your own key.
Any Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with Apple Silicon or an Intel processor. The download button picks the right build for your Mac, and both are on the download page. AI through Apple Intelligence needs macOS 26 on Apple Silicon; with your own key, AI works on any Mac DailyUtil runs on.
Version 0.1 has seven tools: JSON Format, Base64, URL Encode, JWT Debugger, Hash Generator, Unix Time and UUID. Text Diff is next, then the Pro tools such as RegExp, Cron, YAML, Number Base and the Debug Assistant, in free updates.
Yes. Every tool runs on your Mac and needs no connection. Only AI with a cloud key, and later the network tools such as DNS lookup, go online, and only when you press their button.
Yes, dailyutil.com has free tools in the browser. The Mac app is for the tools you use all day: faster, offline, with clipboard detection, shortcuts and AI.
Privacy
No, not from the tools. Formatting, decoding and hashing all happen on your Mac. Text leaves only when you press an AI button with a cloud key, and then it goes straight to your provider after the secret scan.
Before anything goes to a cloud AI provider, DailyUtil looks for API keys, private keys, tokens, JWTs and passwords in the text. If it finds any, it shows what and where, and offers to mask them, use Apple Intelligence instead, or send as is.
In the macOS Keychain on your Mac, and nowhere else. They are not written to a settings file and never sent to us.
Nothing about you or what you paste. The app downloads its update file from our CDN, and asks Polar about a licence key if you have one. The privacy page lists every connection and what is sent on each.
AI
Apple Intelligence on your Mac, or your own key for Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or Grok, or any OpenAI-compatible server such as Ollama or LM Studio. You pick in Settings, AI.
Explain what is in a tool (a JWT's claims, a JSON document), fix invalid input such as broken JSON, generate a sample from a few words, and answer a question about the input. A fix is shown before it replaces anything, with Undo.
No. We run no AI service and keep no AI key. Apple Intelligence runs on your Mac; a cloud key sends the request from your Mac straight to that provider.
Usually not. A chat subscription and an API key are, as a rule, billed separately. You need an API key from the provider, or use Apple Intelligence, which is free.
Plans
Eight tools, free for good with no time limit: JSON, Base64, URL, Unix time, UUID, JWT, Text Diff and Hash, with AI on each through your own setup. Every tool in version 0.1 is free.
Every other tool as it ships, AI on all of them and the Debug Assistant, clipboard detection for every tool, and the global shortcut, Terminal command, Alfred and Raycast. Pro tools arrive in updates; a plan includes them as they land.
2 Macs, for a work Mac and a home Mac. In Settings, on the Plan page, you can deactivate a Mac to move your licence to another one.
It is $29 for the first 100 buyers and $39 after that. Lifetime includes every update for life.
Yes. Within 30 days of buying, write to us and ask.
There is nothing to include. Apple Intelligence is free on your Mac, and with your own key your provider bills you directly. We sell no AI credits and run no AI server.
The eight free tools keep working, and so does everything you saved. The Pro tools lock until you renew.
